8th period sub group 10/27

*Gail McKenna discussed getting onto a Blog account. Several teachers were reinvited.
* Teachers' artifacts shared:
*Heather is working on one in math, using statistics, mean,mode, and sports articles, Making graphs. Develop a newspaper article. This year idea will be done electronically. Importance of saving files as PDF. Another idea, real world math problems, students come up with real life problems and have to show work, have answer key and present to class. Type up electronically and send to teacher. Video taping lesson. Having a reflection to come along with it.
*For future sug-group meetings, a lesson on using Power Point and making video as an artifact, creating artifacts and reflections.
*Mike Bullock uses Power Point in his health class. Students create notes packages and Power Point presentations on Health issue (pregnancy). Will add reflection piece to their journal after each major assignment.

* Gail will be dropping into our folder a sample portfolio that we can change, use, experiment with. Nov. 4, we will be working on this.
* Nov. 4 10am-noon, 1PM-3PM e-portfolio meeting:
Start w/ portfolio template. Some will start with it, some continue working on theirs
Reflect on progress.
*Questions on getting Contribute for use at home.
