1st Period ePort Sub-group 11-20 Meeting

A real strong meeting!
We continued to work with student self-evaluation and reflection.
·Phil Rockey showed us a student self-evaluation done in video form. Really good stuff that adds a number of possibilities for us all. (Please see http://teacherspace.swindsor.k12.ct.us/staff/prockey/projects.htm)
·We began to look more closely at the difference between self-evaluation and reflection and how these fit into our classrooms.

Some other thoughts:
·Connecting the cohorts: We should work with members from the other 3 cohorts periodically (a possibility for the next PD day?). Integrating our individual work is crucial.
·We should include students and parents in the cohorts’ meetings and work.

Next meeting we’re heading into the computer lab to work more on student self-evaluation and reflection assignments/artifacts.
